Avocado Bacon Burger with Sweet Balsamic Onion Relish .. It’s a mouthful to say and a mouthful to eat. No complaints here and I’m sure you won’t have any either! It’s seriously the Ultimate All American Burger! This homemade burger recipe is so good that I can’t wait to make it again, and again, and again.. then again after that. I use Applegate’s Good Morning Bacon since it’s a little chewy and wider, because more bacon please, and it’s less fat! I also use an entire avocado (I mean we used less fat bacon after-all) along with a healthy serving of Sweet Balsamic Onion Relish from Know Your Produce.
This relish is so good you could eat it straight up. If you are an onion lover like me you can top it with some raw red onions and don’t forget an All Beef Grass Fed Burger.
I am super simple with the ingredients IN my burger, nothing aside from adding a little himalayan garlic salt and pepper. Less is more when it comes to the actual burger. I’ve seen some people turn their burgers into a meatloaf. My burgers are all beef, no fillers and not something you’d be serving with mashed potatoes and steamed veggies! Your burger will fall apart and most likely be dry.
Avocado Bacon Burger with Sweet Balsamic Onion Relish
- Ground Beef
- Garlic Salt + Pepper
- Avocados
- Sliced Red Onion
- Applegate Good Morning Bacon (, cooked)
- Sweet Onion Balsamic Relish
- Sesame Seed Buns
- Heat a cast iron pan with a little olive oil.
- Shape your ground beef into patties and season with garlic salt and pepper.
- Take an avocado (one for each burger, or even half for each burger) and mash them.
- Crisp your bun in the cast iron pan once your burgers are done.
- Take your bun and add bacon, burger, avocado, sweet balsamic onion relish, and raw red onions.
- Smash it all together and enjoy!
Another thing, I like a well done burger. Not burnt on the outside, but throughly cooked throughout. You can do this medium well or even rare if you like. I just like my meat cooked well, not well done.
This burger can be messy, just make sure you let it know who’s boss. A little mess is okay, especially if a mess taste this good. To make it less of a mess you can nix the whole avocado and add a smear of it instead. It wasn’t too messy for me just a little spillage of avocado, which you can just swoop up with you burger, om nom nom, so good!
