Baked Chicken Breast
This is seriously the best easy baked chicken breast recipe you’ll ever make. I’m a huge fan of parsley, salt, and garlic and this recipe does not disappoint. If you love parsley, garlic, and salt, you’ll love our air fryer baked potato recipe too! I’m not a huge meat eater, but I do bake chicken breasts often for my husband and these are our favorite! Even my daughter sneaks a few pieces as I chop it up.
My favorite chicken recipes are my brown sugar baked boneless chicken thighs, my baked chicken drumsticks, and of course this easy baked chicken breast recipe. It’s my go-to recipe for tender and juicy chicken breasts every time! You can easily change the seasonings too.
The last thing you want is a dry chicken breast. I’ve found that if you buy a decent sized chicken breast, not one that is GIGANTIC, you’ll have a perfectly moist and juicy chicken breast in the oven.
For this reason, I buy organic chicken breasts only, they’re not oversized at all. If you do have oversized chicken breasts you can easily take a sharp knife and carefully split your chicken breasts into two pieces.
How do I cook chicken breasts in the oven?
I always cover my chicken breasts in a little bit of coconut oil or olive oil. Summer is easier for coating chicken in coconut oil since the warm weather will often turn your coconut oil to a liquid. By covering your chicken breast in olive oil you give it a prevent the chicken from drying out on the outside.
When you’re cooking boneless skinless chicken breast you have to add a fat when you’re baking it in the oven, it helps cook it without drying it out and becoming rough and even rubbery. If you’ve ever baked chicken breast without oil I’m sure you know exactly what I’m talking about.
What temp to cook chicken breast in oven?
I cook the chicken breasts at 400 degrees F. If you want moist and juicy chicken breasts the higher the heat the better, some even do 425 degrees F, but I do worry about cooking too high with no skin and not much fat aside from the olive oil. How long do you bake chicken breast at 425? I would check the internal temperature around 20-25 minutes in.
How long does it take to bake chicken breast?
We usually cook our chicken breasts in the oven for 25-30 minutes. How long to bake chicken breasts in the oven depends on the size of the chicken breast. Smaller breasts will cook quicker, whereas larger will take a bit longer.
What temperature does chicken need to be cooked to? I make sure the internal temperature is 165 degrees F, which is the required cooking temperature for the chicken to be safely consumed according to the FDA.
Baking chicken breast in the oven is super simple with this recipe, all you need to do is coat it with the citrus, oil, and seasonings and bake. It’s one of those dishes that don’t take much effort at all and taste absolutely delicious! I love using our oven baked chicken breast recipe for an easy chicken dinner, but also make a bunch so I can add it to chicken burritos, chicken salads, and even cold chicken pasta salad.
Can you cook frozen chicken in the oven?
Yes, but the chicken will take twice as long to cook. We have found that by defrosting the chicken breast you’ll have not only a shorter cook time, but also a juicy and more tender chicken breast. Therefore, we highly suggest you defrost or use fresh chicken for the best chicken breast results.
