Preparing for Thanksgiving Dinner can be a task especially if it’s your first time. I like to make sure I have all my food items picked out 2 weeks in advance and work on my shopping list the week prior. Most important? The products that make your life easier! Special thanks to Boscov’s for sponsoring this post.
I recently shopped at my local Boscov’s to find everything I’d need while preparing for Thanksgiving Dinner. These essentials are great for all entertaining, even Christmas Dinner!
Preparing for Thanksgiving must have products!
I purchased a few things that we didn’t have already and had to have for entertaining and then some stuff was had to have because, YAY for a sale, right? I had to have a thermometer. I never trust the ones in the turkey or turkey breast. I’ve found that if I wait for that I’ve had times where it has overcooked the turkey. A turkey baster with cleaning brush is a must, I never purchased one with a brush and it makes cleaning so much easier and thorough! I also found cute little salt and pepper shakers for the table, my kiddo said she had to have them!
I have wanted a glass mixer bowl for quite some time. This is great to use just as you’d use your stainless steel bowl. Great for bread, desserts, and even mashed potatoes!
The Cuisinart 5 1/2 QT Multi-Purpose Pan was a must have, we have pots, but this one is so pretty and you can’t beat the price tag, $29.99 usually $39.99! I used this multi-purpose pan for making mashed potatoes, but it would be great for soups, stews, boiling pasta, and more!
Talking about mashed potatoes! I made Know Your Produce’s Roasted Garlic Mashed Potatoes. I added in about 1 ounce of cream cheese and nixed the parsley. To make the roasted garlic I used the Garlic Roaster by Rachel Ray. When not in use, it’s staying on my counter holding my garlic – I just love how it looks.
My favorite purchase was the KitchenAid® 16in. Roaster with Rack. I love stainless steel and it really made cooking my turkey breast a breeze.
It was easy to remove the turkey from the pan with the rack to cool and then pour the pan into my saucepan to make the gravy. By the way, this turkey is fully cooked and look at that thermometer doing me no favors.
Then my favorite purchase for guests. We love making tons of food and we never want ANY of it to go to waste. A must have is good containers to send home with your guests, but without breaking the bank! These containers cost $2 per piece and come in a set of 10 pieces (5 lids 5 containers). Total cost per set is only $9.99 – that’s a steal!
