We did a little gender reveal with the family and of course I used cupcakes. Chocolate with a marshmallow filling and ganache top.
We are expecting a sweet baby, GIRL! I’m so very excited and cannot wait to be a mommy. Boy or girl I am happy, as long as he or she is healthy. Just finding out is super exciting and I like being semi prepared.
About our baby: Our sweet baby’s weighs about 10 1/2 ounces now. She’s also around 6 1/2 inches long from head to bottom and about 10 inches from head to heel – the length of a banana! (For the first 20 weeks, when a baby’s legs are curled up against his torso and hard to measure, measurements are taken from the top of his head to his bottom — the “crown to rump” measurement. After 20 weeks, she’s measured from head to toe.)She’s swallowing more these days, which is good practice for his digestive system. She’s also producing meconium, a black, sticky by-product of digestion. This gooey substance will accumulate in her bowels, and you’ll see it in his first soiled diaper (some babies pass meconium in the womb or during delivery).(summary from babycenter)
About me: This week I’ve come to terms with having to purchase some bigger yoga pants. Oh my!
How far along? 20 Weeks 1 Day
Total weight gain: 7lbs
Maternity clothes? Not yet, unless you count bigger yoga pants
Stretch marks? None yet
Sleep: Getting uncomfortable, and 1-2 bathroom trips.
Best moment this week: Finding out baby is healthy, and the gender!
Worst moment this week: This has been a very bittersweet week, finding out our baby is healthy was the highlight. Unfortunately my grandma hasn’t been doing well and has been placed into hospice. This is tearing me up inside. I love my grandma so much, and it meant so much to me to have her here as long as I have. She gave me a wonderful mother whom I miss more than anything.. and finally they will be together again with my grandfather, my father, and my other lost loved ones. Hubby’s grandma is also not doing well and is being taken care of by hospice and family in her own home. We are grateful for every moment we’ve had with them.
