You are my sunshine, my only sunshine.  You make me happy, when skies are grey.  <— That song would make me cry tears up until just last year.  It’s the song my mother would sing to me every night before she would put me to bed.  I never thought I would be able to smile while singing it again until I had Sweet Baby.  She is in every word my saving grace.  My 2014 New Year’s Resolution is to plow through FPIES trials and create more fun and delicious recipes for her to enjoy.

In the past week we’ve come up with some fun smoothie recipes, a biscuit recipe, and even a brownie recipe during the Christmas holiday.  I feel so blessed to have these sweet moments and recipes to enjoy with her.  The best part is that she’s doing it all with me right by my side.  She truly loves to be in the kitchen, just like her mommy!

Once you have children you tend to stop having those moments – the moments of being alone as a couple.  I’m going to be honest, everything we do involves Sweet Baby and even sleeping, as we co-sleep.  There’s sometimes when you just want to have those moments together again, but I can’t stand the thought of a babysitter (I can’t even handle being away from baby girl – who am I kidding?!) so hubby and I try to watch movies together before bed.  Sweet Baby almost always stays up with us so we don’t have that moment alone.  Sometimes a cup of coffee in the morning can bring us those sweet moments together.  When I prep ahead it’s perfect to save time so we can connect in the morning and share a few minutes before he heads off to work.

Holiday photos can be such a hassle so we’re getting started early.   We were thrilled at the chance to shop at OshKosh B’Gosh – we have a few things from there, but not nearly as much as I would have liked so shopping was extremely fun!  I totally went over my budget and even plan on going back for a coat, snow suit, and some more tights.   I spend more on clothes for Sweet Baby in one shopping trip than I do on myself in a year.. Sad, but so true!    It’s just so fun to dress her up especially when she has no say yet
