we reviewed this vehicle for a week thanks to drive sti – all opinions are our own.
For some people buying a car important things are color, name, and reputation. For me it’s a few things like safety, comfort, and price. I’m more of a realist than a material girl, which my husband loves. Ideally we’d love to have an SUV before 2015. Chris owns a truck and I lease a sedan. While I love sedans I love cars that are a little higher up.
The 2014 Mitsubishi Outlander is definitely a car to consider. Price starts at $23,195. Boasting top rated fuel economy, which is a nice perk for a larger vehicle. It comes in three different trim levels.
It’s available in front wheel and can pack in 6 passengers. Super All Wheel Control (S-AWC). You’ll see technology and features you’d find in a higher priced vehicle, especially when it comes to the safety. There’s a lot of technology advances and for good reason. Not mentioning reasons, but there’s to many distracted drivers, many whom would benefit from the features like Forward Collision Mitigation, which can stop the car in the chance of an accident.
Chris really liked the LDW – Lane Departure Warning feature. TOO many people are distracted like I said and they can enter into other lanes. This will let you know if you’re about to leave your lane. I just get weary that this could be a crutch for some. Chris also enjoyed the adaptive cruise control for our visit to our family up North.
One thing we didn’t realize to look at for previous car purchases/leases is IIHS – Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. The Outlander received a Top Safety Pick award! Plus the 2014 Mitsubishi Outlander Receives Impressive “5-Year Cost to Own Award” from Kelley Blue Book! That award alone makes me rethink leasing.
It also packs an impressive warranty:
- Standard Bumper to Bumper Warranty @ 5 years or 60,000 miles
- Powertrain Limited Warranty @ 10 years or 100,000 miles
- Anti-Corrosion Warranty @ 7 years or 100,000 miles
- Fully Transferrable Unlimited Roadside Assistance @ 5 Years with Unlimited miles
When I step into a car I think of safety, and the Outlander has blown most cars out of the water with all the safety features. As a mom I really enjoyed no bending too far down to place Kay in her car seat. I love opening the trunk with a push of a button, and closing it the same way. I appreciate the room and all the safety that surrounds us as we drive. Definitely a car to consider for your family in 2014-2015!
Also it was super easy to pick up bags of sand for my daughter’s new toy. Special thanks to DriveSTI for letting us feature this vehicle and also telling me I have almost, the cleanest car they picked up despite the sand
