Cotton Candy Champagne : Mom’s Night In
Posted by trisha haas on
Recently the Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort, the #1 resort on Northwest Florida’s Emerald Coast, invited Chris and I to experience an “at home wine in a box” to get a little festival at home. Of course for me, wine translates to champagne (because that’s the kind of drinker I am) and must always accompany...

Brown Sugar Ribs | Quick and Easy

Since my daughter’s FPIES diagnosis we’ve tried a slew of different foods and one of her favorite proteins are pork. She could eat bacon, ribs, and chops all day if I let her! Due to her limited diet we always kept things pretty simple and even after her ever expanding list of safe foods we’ve actually now just started focusing on the quantity she actually eats rather than introduce more foods. She’s has quite the list now compared to only eating banana and strawberries just last summer.

Taking charge of my health is extremely important to me, not just for myself but also my daughter. I eat for two since she’s still breastfeeding. Baked Glazed Chocolate Doughnuts with RAW Strawberry Sprinkles

Baked Glazed Chocolate Doughnuts with fresh raw strawberry sprinkles. Fun, delicious, and easy!
Sweet Baby is a tricky little girl to back for when it comes to those “fun” sprinkles and colors. I actually searched for organic sprinkles and even most of them contain soy. We really try to avoid all types of artificial ingredients in ours and her diet. One thing we’ve noticed is she has an FPIES reaction to products that say “contains natural flavors”. Natural flavors can be anything, and for us we have to avoid that. Since it’s Valentine’s Day I wanted to make her an edible treat that she would love and would be semi-healthy. I gave her a choice of cupcake or doughnut by holding up the pans, she picked the heart shaped doughnut pan from Wilton!
Homemade Salsa Bolognese Using Left Over Taco Meat

Stretching the dollar, and stretching our dinners .. that’s what I’m doing these days. We try to buy only organic so if I see a bulk buy for ground beef I make it all and freeze some and keep some in the refrigerator. I like making the ground beef seasoning with taco mix (recipe coming soon!) and mixing it up different ways! Since my daughter’s FPIES trial we’re really trying to get her to TRY the ground beef so I’m trying every recipe I can and she loves taste testing! The only problem is she spits out the meat. Not so much of a trial then.. huh?
